Watford Gap. A Plate of Grease And a Load of Crap......
Just been listening to Roy Harper lately. A rather good eccentric English singer/songwriter going back to the late-'60's. He also sang lead vox on Pink Floyd's Have A Cigar. The album I have is called Bullinamingvase and is very good chill-out music. Nice acoustic folk-rock. Anyway..... also been listening to the Stones' Exile on Main Street, a very sweaty album, but very cool. Anyyway.... (part 2) I'm on my way to see Eraserhead tonight. It's a lovely Autumn evening and I'm feeling rather Autumnal. I find that Autumn usually puts me in a different mood, slightly melancholy. Not too bad though. Anyway, just thought I'd just post a quick what's-on-my-mind update. Gotta go. Cheers!!! It's been a long, long, long time....
First of all, happy birthday John Lennon (and Sean Lennon). I just woke up. Had a good Thanksgiving Weekend. Plenty of time for family and friends. Watched a LOT of Corner Gas. Love that show! Anyway, just thought I'd make this a quick one. Lots of work to do this week, that's for sure! Anyway, gotta go. A sunny summer day....
Well... just a bright sunny Tuesday afternoon in June. I'm just sittin' here havin' a beer and listening to The Beach Boys. Gonna be 29 in less than a week. July 2, to be exact. Not sure how I feel about that. Next stop...The BIG 30!!! Anyway, that's about all I will say right now. Bye.... A Minor Retrospective
Well... it's promising to be a rather nice summer. Last summer was rather eventful in a lot of ways. Friends came and went, I saw a psychiatrist and I had a girlfriend for a few months. In general, I think summer is my favorite time of year, along with Christmas. Unlike last year, though, which was a time of change and experience, as well as some growth, this summer, all I'd like to do is relax and enjoy myself without too much emphasis on what I'm not doing or living up to. Much of my former desperation has subsided. I still have anxiety about a lot of things, but it's not nearly as desperate as it used to be. That feels quite good. I know that while I may not be THE best, I am MY best, or at least I try to be. Not much else matters. I'm more comfortable with myself than I once was, even if there is still some insecurity. That is normal. Basically, I think that's what will ultimately make this summer better for me. I know I'm not in a hurry, but I can also stay on top of things and take care of business. Anyway, just puttin' that out there. Current Mood: optimisticCurrent Music: The Doors- Light My Fire | | Sunday, April 1st, 2007 | | 4:22 pm |
Nothing Special (just an update)
Let's see... where to start? Well... Last week (on Mar. 22nd) I went for an Ecocardiogram. That was done merely because my family Doctor felt it would be a good percautionary measure. The most interesting thing about an ECG is the fact that you get to hear your own blood running through your veins. A rather unique experience, I think. The results must have been good, as I have not heard from anyone about them. Ajay Foods has been settling into our new location nicely. We're gradually getting more organized and less cluttered. Been reading (but nowhere near finished) The Primal Scream by Dr. Arthur Janov. I'm reading it more out of curiosity than anything, although it does have plenty of info on neurotic behavior. Maddyson turned 3 on Tuesday March 27th. She's getting much cuter and more clever each day. A beautiful child if ever there was one! Went bowling last night with Darryl. That was loads of fun!!! Thinking about doing that for my birthday. I'm not really good at it, but I find it enjoyable anyway. And lastly, the new movie Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler is FANTASTIC!!! Saw it a week ago (after Maddy's party @ Chucky Cheese) and I can honestly say that no movie has affected me like that since maybe Forrest Gump, and that includes Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind....... ...and on that note, I haven't got much else going on at the moment. I'll try not to wait so long for the next entry...lol. Ciao! Current Mood: Content and contemplativeCurrent Music: YES- Our Song | | Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 | | 7:27 am |
Cold... So very cold...
It's been very cold recently. Last night, as I walked up Columbia/Lexington to Regina St. on the way home, the wind was SO violentoy cold that my fingers were going numb. Once I was on Regina though, I stopped at a bus shelter and de-numbed. The rest of my journey was relatively painless, but shortly before leaving work, I did something minor to my thumb while helping Milan from the Guelph store. It's fine, but that made the numbness of the cold worse. Anyway, not much else to report right now. Still not quite awake... getting there though. "I spend the day your way..."
I'm still not quite awake, but I'm out of bed. That's a start. Winter is here. Where is all the cheer? Just kiddin'. I'm not complaining. Now, I'm just relaxing for a few more minutes before I get ready for work. Things are getting busier at the moment. I'm the only one there and there's a big sheeting order. Good for the $$$ factor though! lol. Jim and I are kinda plugging away as best we can. At times it's kinda nice though. A bit more relaxed. Anyway... I'm running out of things to say. I'm gonna get outta here before I start a riot!!! lol (insert kooky emoticon here) Bye for now. Keep your teeth clean. A New Year Is Upon Us!!! (Hooray For Randomness!!!)
Well... the year is now 2007. I'm happy about that. Right now, I'm just sitting here in my home, relaxing after a day's work and a very nice dinner of tacos with Simon. Global warming seems to be giving us springtime weather when we should be having lots of snow. I'm in a somewhat more philosophical state now. Just reflecting on life and stuff. not much to say, but I haven't really posted in a bit, so I thought I ought to. Anyway........ A Sick Christmas
Well... Christmas is here. Overall, it was pretty good, with much fun had by all, but on Friday night and Saturday, I had the flu. I spent Saturday essentially out of commission. Sunday was an improvement. I was able to get out and do things with friends. Today (Christmas Day) was spent relaxing @ home with my family and recouperating. One bit of congrats goes to Darryl who got a job @ Canadian Superstore. What a Christmas present! Excellent! Anyway, not much else to say, so I'm gonna go. Bye for now. Keep your teeth clean. A Splendid Time Is Guaranteed For All!!!
It's Christmas (almost) and it's looking pretty sweet right now. Lots of time to spend with friends and family. Christmas Eve will begin with an event that can only be described as Breakfast With The Lads, followed by Geekfest '06. LOL Anyway, Christmas dinner tomorrow, with my family and a few of our friends, as well as being Maddy's Christmas Eve. I hope everyone reading this has a terriffic Christmas and a splendid New Year. A Quickie (Season's Greetings)
Hi there. Just wanted to jot down a quick message to say Merry Christmas to everyone. Also, a slightly belated Happy Birthday to Malcolm. Hope to be able to see you and your family in the New Year! A Right Kaffuffle! (Random Musings)
Me and my morning coffee. It's Friday. I am happy 'bout that. the weekend is upon us. I shall be hopefully doing something about my change collection, ie. turning it to cash. It's been accumulating for quite some time now. 10 days 'til Christmas day. Can you believe it? It's been a very unique year, to say the least. I kinda feel like it's been a year of growth and learning. hopefully, the next year will continue that trend. Things have changed a fair bit this year. I only hope there are more changes ahead. Life can take you to funny places sometimes, that's for sure. Sometimes though, things that may seem pointless at the time have really helped to show us the way ahead. Another Entry
Christmas is rapidly approaching. As usual, it will be a nice rest from the day-to-day routine of work. I hate to admit it, but as good as my job has been for these past 4 years, I'm really beginning to need a change. Beginning in the new year, I'm going to put energy into that, both in terms of school and work. Plotting the future course. Last night, I was out for tacos with Darryl, Simon and Dan. It was good. A nice after-work activity. Afterwards, Darryl and I checked out the Princess Cinema cafe. Actually, it's very nice in there. Anyway, that was my evening. Things aren't that exciting these days, but it's not a bad thing. Saturday is going to be my Christmas shopping day in which I complete all of my shopping in one go. Phew!!!! That'll be nice! Anyway... Not much else to say. Time to get ready for work. Bye................. Current Mood: okayCurrent Music: The Who Wire And Glass (A Mini-Opera) | | Thursday, December 7th, 2006 | | 7:55 pm |
Astro-Political Humor
What do you call it when an audience sits in at a Tory Party meeting? Observe-A-Tory. Ha ha ha... wait. That's not really funny. lol. Anyway, bad jokes aside, today was actually pretty good. Darryl and I got a lot done and kicked ass in terms of sheeting dough at work. Trays were washed and there was much rejoicing. In other news, I've been thinking about things to do with the next few years of my life. I would like to go to school, possibly in another city. Just to get a chance to change things up a bit and be in new surroundings. You never know what'll happen until you get there, but then, getting there is half the fun. Philosophy has crossed my mind as something to study, but I need to look into it and see if it's a good idea. It seems like it could be rather interesting. Anyway, that's what I've been thinking about these days. I really want to change my surroundings a bit. Bye for now. Keep your teeth clean. Lots To Do Today!!!!!!!
Got a lot of dough to make today. Guelph and sheeting mainly. Jim won't be in for most of the day, so I have to do lots on my own. Oh yeah. Par-bakes as well. No trays to use either, so that'll be a bit of a problem. Anyway, I'm talkin' work talk for anyone who doesn't know. But enough about that!!! This weekend is going to be my opportunity to get at least a chunk of my Christmas shopping done. Some will be done through other people. Stuff that needs done in a hurry. But much of it will be done on Saturday or next weekend for whatever's left. Anyway, it's 7:20 am and I'm sitting here contemplating things. Bye for now. Keep your teeth clean! Late Night Rambling
Had a rather nice day today. Started out upstairs at Kirsten's visiting Maddy for a bit, then went out for a movie and merriment with Tyson and Darryl. We saw Tenacious D and the Pick Of Destiny. It was a fun movie. Back @ Darryl's later, Tyson showed us a few episodes of Little Brittain. That show is REALLY funny!!! It's a bit like episodic sketch comedy. Then, I came home and have been relaxing ever since. It's 2:00 in the morning and I think I'll be in bed soon. Anyway............................ Bye for now. Keep your teeth clean. Nothing really.
Another morning, another start to another glorious day. Just going about my business in the usual way. Oh, it's very exciting, I can tell you! lol. Really though, I've been focusing on work and just relaxing with family, friends or by myself. Rather nice, actually. Nothing's really new, but that's not a bad thing. Christmas is coming and I gotta get my shopping started!!! Next week, I'll have $$$, and maybe I'll roll all my change and have a small fortune to put toward gifts too. That'd be very nice! Anyway, as it happens, I don't have much else to say at the moment, but I'll be bringing you back here the moment anything interesting happens. Bye for now. Keep your teeth clean! Coins And Crosses
Well... I just wanted to post a quickie 'cause I haven't done so in awhile. I feel like CRAP!!! Colds are terrible!!! I have been drinking lots of tea and O.J, but it's still here. I just took some Tylenol Cold, so we'll see what happens. It's not stopping me from working though, thank Goodness. Anyway, I've just been up to the usual stuff lately, but enjoying myself while I'm at it. Darryl has been working @ Ajay with me periodically recently. It's very nice to have him there. Breaks the monotony of the day and he geets to make some much-needed $$$. Anyway, I gotta skiddaddle. Time to get dressed and go. Bye for now. Keep your teeth clean. The Week's Nearly Over!!!!
Well... work has been hectic lately. Much sheeting and dough-making. I spent a nice quiet evening at Justine's, watching tv and actually, helping her with her new kitchen table. The old one, it seems, lost the will to stand on its own 2 legs, so that was that! :) It was an evening well-spent. Makes me realise just how much Justine means to me. She makes me happy. That's all I need. I seem to make her happy too. Anyway, in other news, it's after midnight. I should be in bed, but I don't feel like sleeping just yet. I am going to have a snack an go to bed. Music helps my sanity a LOT sometimes. It's just what keeps me from going completely numb. Sometimes I think that if it weren't for music, I'd be an entirely different person. That concludes this paragraph of random musings. Good evening. Current Mood: lovedCurrent Music: The Who Blue Red and Grey | | Tuesday, October 17th, 2006 | | 10:30 pm |
Not Bad
I don't have much to say, but I am reasonably happy at the moment. Had the day off and spent it with Justine and Rhiannon. We went shopping @ Fairview, as well as in the Highland area earlier in the day. This after I'd spent a little time moping about uptown on my own after cashing my paycheck. Just got home from Justine's and am winding down for the night. Need to relax. I might have a cup of tea or something. Anyway, this is just an entry for the sake of it. More later. For now, peace be with you all. Current Mood: mellowCurrent Music: Pink Floyd-More (and a few other albums) |
